Jessica qualified as a Nutritional Therapist in 2017 at the College for Naturopathic Medicine, London, after 3 years of study. She had a corporate job for eight years prior to this and now lives in Surrey with her family. She holds a first class Master of Arts degree from the University of Edinburgh in Psychology and Business.
Jess has worked with clients since graduating, in the UK and overseas, supporting them with a wide range of health issues. She loves working in health and nutrition as it constantly evolves with new research, and more tests and supplements are developed which can make a real difference to people’s lives.
After struggling with her own health issues, Jess has experienced first hand the benefit the right testing and diet interventions can make on overall health, and she is keen to share this with others.
Jess is fully insured with Balens Healthcare Insurer and is registered with the governing body, Association for Naturopathic Practitioners.
Jess undertakes regular learning to expand her knowledge and skills as a practitioner. She has completed specialised training with Moira Bradfield, a Global specialist in Women’s Intimate Health, and has undertaken other female health courses in the UK.
Jess currently works for Screenme, advising clients on their test results, including vaginal and semen microbiome tests, and hormone panels.
For those suffering, I feel your pain; I have suffered myself. I can largely control my symptoms now with the knowledge I have and the healing I have done, and I’m in tune with my triggers and risk factors. But, I have been there - trying every supplement like it’s my miracle cure, restricting my diet and consulting medical practioners with no answers.
Initially I experienced a few UTIs I was able to fight naturally. However, in early 2022 I was hit with a month long UTI which was agony and didn’t budge after three rounds of antibiotics. It took a long time to dampen down, with a host of supplements and dietary changes. After multiple negative urine tests at the Drs I tested my vaginal and bladder microbiome privately.
This was a turning point for me. Firstly, I wasn’t going mad - there were signs of an altered microbiome with pathogens causing my symptoms. Secondly, I could tailor my daily habits accordingly; a pathogen was found in the my bladder which doesn’t get picked up on standard GP testing. I also dug deep into drivers for my microbiome changes and found hormones were playing a role in my case.
My focus since has been rebalancing my microbiomes,(gut, bladder and vagina), healing tissues, lowering inflammation, supporting my hormones and immune system. My infection is likely embedded or possibly biofilms are at play (its hard to know for sure given there are no reliable tests to show this), but I feel I have learnt a lot about my body and manage the symptoms well.
I’m excited to help others in this area; its a complex, under-researched area of health with testing limitations and women deserve more!
